PURPOSE - Are you doing this as something fun to do together? Want some photos to help warm up your house? Need photos for your engagement party? Are you wanting images for your save the date cards? or have your parents simply been nagging you for photos?
Knowing this kind of information before your photoshoot is very helpful for myself, this can make a big difference in the way I photograph youon the day.
LOCATION - Pick somewhere that has a specific meaning to you both, somewhere you both love going together or that is going to match the theme of your house/wedding.
Whether you love the outdoors, being in amongst greenery, love the beachy vibes, something more architectural, the city or simply love being lazy at home together! The place you pick will play a big role in the photoshoot. Pintrest/Google is a very helpful way too search for a location, epesically if you have never done photos before and your not sure what you’re looking for.
OUTFITS - Selection of clothing is a critical factor in a successful portrait.
Some clothing can be distracting or overpowering which can result in taking away from the connection you and your partner have, so it is best to avoid clothing with a lot of patterns and big logos.
It is important to match your colour tones and find something that you both comfortable in, whilst also considering the location... if we were to go to a forest location, it is best to wear lighter clothing so you stand out from the dark greenery. Ect.
If you are having a hard time with clothing, Pinterest is a great website to get outfit ideas and search for the look you and your partner disire. I am also more than happy for you to send me some photos via email so we can get the best outcome for you photoshoot.
END RESULT - It's extremely important to me that by the end of it all you receive some beautiful images you can love forever! To help me get an insight into the types of images you'd like to achieve on the day I'd love for you to find some images for me whether they be from Google, Pinterest or even my pages! Look for anything that grabs your attention !! Whether it be the clothing, scenery, feel of the photo, the connection, lighting, pose or the overall mood of the photo. I’d love it if you could send this through to me a week prior to your photoshoot!
